The AAT Story
At Automotive Aftermarket Training we provide curriculum design and delivery based on easy-to-understand concepts and explanations, manuals that act as reference material, and knowledgeable, dynamic instructors who understand the concepts we teach. Automotive Aftermarket Training was founded to create and deliver technical and management training to technicians and shop owners /managers throughout the automotive industry. In 1989, when the founder of AAT, Greg Marchand, owned an independent repair shop he quickly realized that if he were to stay in business he and his technicians would need to seek out and attend quality training. Back then, the only technical training that was available was through vendors who invariably tried to sell products during the training session. Sitting through a sales pitch to get “training” just didn’t seem right.
During Greg’s time as a technical training instructor with Toyota he was charged with delivering high quality, professionally developed curriculum usually focused on advanced technology and diagnostic procedures. It wasn’t long before he discovered that although the training was excellent, technicians often had their own way of diagnosing the same technology – without expensive equipment. He also knew that the aftermarket didn’t have the same access to equipment and information that dealership technicians do.
AAT, Inc. provides simple, easy-to-understand, real world training curriculum. Although there is a lot of good technical training to be found in the marketplace these days, much of it doesn’t meet the high standards of AAT curriculum. If you can’t use the information the next day in your repair shop, we don’t believe the training is the best that it can be.
